Each person’s experience of meditation is completely unique regardless of whether they are sitting
in a group or by themselves. This does NOT matter. Each meditation will be a different journey. There are no rules. The idea is that you have taken timeout to relax and find the inner harmony your mind, body, and soul
deserves. All I suggest to anyone meditating
is to be sitting comfortably, feet firmly on the floor and NOT crossed, make sure your back is supported
properly by the back of your chair, have a glass of water close by, and if possible switch the phone off (especially the mobile!)
This is a short meditaiton to cut away the 'Dead
Wood' in your life and allowing you to Grow
What is dead wood? This is your choice I
can not tell you what it is.
It is always your choice
Enjoy the experience
Pick a quiet place and a comfortable chair.
Sit
quietly with both feet on the ground and relax. Close your eyes. Begin to be aware of your breathing.
Inhale… Exhale… Inhale…Exhale…
Concentrate on your breathing, in through the nose and out through the mouth. If you have a lot of tension, on the in breath lift your shoulders,
and as you exhale release them. (Only do this if you do NOT have shoulder problems) Do this a couple of times. Now visualise walking towards a tree of your choice, This tree represents you. Take a long look at it
Do you need to clear away the old dead leaves that are surrounding it? Do you need to remove old pieces of branches that have fallen?
Does it need a general tidy up around
its base and roots? Take
your time doing this little bit of tidying up Enjoy getting rid of all the Old
dead parts that you no longer need Now look up the tree Do the branches need to be pruned back?
Do any ones that are broken need to be cut off and discarded?
Remember that you are
the trunk of this tree You need to have good strong roots So cut away anything that is going to stop your growth
Now look up higherSee the new shoots starting to appear New growth new branches new leaves all at the top of your tree
Wonderful
Now just let your imagination take you forward 3 months See the difference See how much your leaves and branches have grown
Now look forward another 3 months See yourself in FULL bloom
A canopy of green, With strong branches and bright green
leaves Perhaps with fruit on your tree? Just a
few short months Notice the changes that have and will happen to you.
Sit
quietly for a few moments and enjoy this feeling then vey gently Inhale…….Exhale……
On each exhale become aware of sitting in your chair and
being in your room Inhale……Exhale……. Inhale……Exhale…… Open your eyes and have a drink of water.
